Hey there! I'm so glad you found us! My name is Keira and I am a pelvic health physical therapist. This means I specialize in treating people with dysfunction surrounding their pelvis and pelvic floor. I love treating women all throughout the lifespan, but I have a special interest in treating women throughout the childbirth journey - during both pregnancy and postpartum.
My mission is to stop normalizing pain during pregnancy and postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction (including bladder leaking with coughing, sneezing, and jumping on a trampoline). I want to keep you doing all the things you love during pregnancy and get you back to everything you want without restriction after childbirth.
I hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. Prior to this, I studied Athletic Training at Eastern Washington University where I developed a special love for treating athletic and active populations. Since I've been practicing as a physical therapist, I have continued my education in my specialty of pelvic health. I have taken many weekend-long courses through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to increase my knowledge and expand my toolbelt for pelvic floor evaluation and treatment.
I am to treat from a holistic framework, meaning that I address dysfunction throughout the whole body to improve function and eliminate symptoms from the root cause. I use evidence-based treatments including manual therapy, mobility activities, progressive strengthening, and functional coordination and strength training to treat impairments and improve functional activity tolerance.
Outside of work, you can find me participating in my regular fitness regime of running and weight lifting. I love spending time with my favorite people - my husband and our baby, friends, baby niece, and family, and often drag them along for walks, hikes, and to go snowboarding. I'm an avid reader so I always have a book with me (feel free to ask me what I'm currently reading!), and definitely like to partake in the occasional Netflix binge when in need of some quiet downtime.
